Saigon has a history of more than 300 years old. Nowaday, this southern city is the biggest and richest city in Vietnam. In this post, I makes a list of the top 3 most beautiful churches in Ho Chi Minh city. This is the list of my own view, you may find different list from others. Here’s the list.

1. The Duc Ba Church – The Notre Dame Cathedral in Saigon

In August 1876, there was a design contest for a new coming church in Saigon and finally, the design of J.Bourard with Roman & Gothic style was chosen among 17 other designs. The church was built from October 1877 to April 1880 (nearly 3 years) and from that moment, the Duc Ba church is always one of the oldest and most beautiful church in Vietnam.

2. The Pink Tan Dinh Church in Ho Chi Minh city

The Tan Dinh church is a catholic church in district 1, Ho Chi Minh city. It was built in 1870-1876 by French and became one of the first churchs in Ho Chi Minh city. The original name was “Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus”. The overall style of Tan Dinh church came from Gothic with Roman and Baroque decorative. The most special fact is the pink color all over the outside, makes it so unique that could be called The Pink Church.

3. The Huyen Sy Church – Heritage of the richest man in saigon

Back to the history about 100 years ago, in Saigon, there was a myth about the four richest men not just in Saigon but the whole six southern provinces. They were 1.Mr Sy 2.Mr Phuong 3.Mr Xuong 4.Mr Dinh. According to some sources, Mr. Sy is even richer than the King – Bao Dai. The Huyen Sy church that i am going to show you is the heritage of Mr. Sy who also was grand-dad of Nam Phuong queen.
